It’s June?
I expected to get started with the site earlier, but life has been busy lately and I didn’t really have the time. This weekend I started rebuilding the site locally with the use of a new Astro base theme that’s a bit more dynamic and workable for what I’d like to accomplish with this project.
Had to run a couple errands in Mount Pearl this afternoon and decided to revisit one of my favourite places - Power’s Pond and a part of the Arboretum Walk through Donovans. The City and the Grand Concourse Authority did a great job with an accessible paved path here, connecting into the greater T’Railway and other local Mount Pearl city paths - easy parking at the city dog park, no street crossings in this section, light grade throughout.
Some well-needed R&R
It goes without saying, but getting out for some fresh air makes a huge difference. I’ve been working lots of overtime lately and putting out fires in other areas of life, and sometimes even a quick hour-long get away from it all can be a good reset. It got me back into VS Code to try to put the site together again!
I think my next post will be on music. I discovered a cool new tool called Scrobble Radio this week that aggregates some online indie radio stations and works great with web scrobbling to sites like Last.fm. A lot of my music listening has been the same old, same old lately on Apple Music, so it’s great to switch things up and really discover some new artists that aren’t in the charts again. So far my favourites have been Indie 102.3, Indie X FM, KEXP and a bit of WBER.
